Parti Cinta Malaysia vice-president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan today challenged DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to stand in the Penang state DAP election scheduled on Sunday.

Huan said Lim has to be bold to contest in the election to prove he has the full support of the state apart from demonstrating his appointment as the chief minister was valid.

"He has to contest to prove that he is the real tiger of DAP and has the support of DAP in Penang," he told a media conference here today.

Huan said Lim should seize the opportunity to contest this time to restore his deteriorating image and credibility.

In the DAP Centre Executive Committee (CEC) election in 2012, Huan said Lim received 1,576 votes but his votes dropped to 1,304 votes in 2013, which was the fifth highest vote.

"How can you obtain the fifth highest vote and be selected as secretary-general. It should be those in the top three who should be chosen as secretary-general," he added.
