Gerakan has launched a mobile application to enable party members to access all the party's official websites with only a click on their smartphones.

'Gerakan Mobile Apps' covering websites, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube was developed in three languages -- Malay, English and Chinese.

Businessman Oh Teik Dong, who developed the application, said he was planning to make Tamil as one of the languages of the application.

"The application was developed in only three weeks. I am thankful because it was completed before the 2014 Gerakan National Delegates Conference started," he said at a ceremony to launch the application here on Saturday.

The application was launched by Gerakan secretary-general Liang Teck Meng who came up with the idea for the application.

Oh, who is Perak Gerakan Publicity Bureau chief, said members could obtain the application by scanning its bar code at the conference or by downloading it at 'apps store'.

More than 500 members are expected to download the application at the conference and the number will increase after being highlighted in the media.

Meanwhile, Liang said the launch of the application was timely as the number of smartphone users was rising as over 15 million Malaysians have Facebook accounts.
