Negeri Sembilan police will conduct an internal probe into its personnel reported to be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for submitting false hotel accommodation claims.

Its deputy chief, SAC Muhamad Zaki Harun, said the measure was taken to identify weaknesses and improve on the standard operating procedures relating to submission of expense claims by Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers and members.

"The investigation will be conducted by PDRM Integrity and Standard Compliance Department.

"If the investigations found that it truly happened, then we will examine the weaknesses in the claim procedures so that we can make the necessary improvement to prevent recurrence," he told reporters here Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the media reported, 11 civil servants including police and Customs officers in the state were summoned by the MACC in connection with the submission of false hotel accommodation claims while on official duty in the Klang Valley. -- Bernama
