National coach Dollah Salleh reminded his boys to avoid making any mistakes when facing three-time winners Thailand in their AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 Group B match at the Jalan Besar Stadium, on Wednesday.

"The match against Thailand will be a tough one as they are among the favorites to win this tournament but we're ready to face them. I hope something will happen but we will give our best shot against them," Dollah told reporters after attending the team's manager meeting, yesterday.

Dollah also urged his boys to avoid picking up any cards as what had happened in the opening match against Myanmar on last Sunday when midfielder, Gary Steven Robbat was given the marching orders by Turkmenistan referee, Kurbanov Charymurat after receiving two yellow cards within minutes.

Meanwhile, Thailand assistant coach, Kairung Threejagsang has also urged his younger players to double up their efforts although they will start the match as the favourite.

He said, a win against Malaysia would boost their chances to march into the next round of the tournament.

"Most of the Malaysian players are young and experienced like us, so we have to be careful when playing against them. I'm quite confident that we can win if the players can repeat their performance against Singapore," said Kairung through an interpreter.

Thailand beat defending champion Singapore 1-2 in their opening encounter at the National Stadium, Singapore Sports Hub on Sunday.
