Trading continued to operate as usual today despite the reports of a suspected cyber attack that disrupted online stock trading at multiple brokerages locally last week.

The Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia in a joint statement said they are working closely with the National Security Council (NSC) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to manage any potential cyber security incidents.

NSC is the agency responsible for managing and coordinating the implementation of policies related to the security of Malaysia.

“SC and Bursa would like to emphasise that the management of cyber security risk remains a high priority and all brokers have been advised to remain vigilant,” the statement read.

Investors who experience difficulty accessing any online trading services are urged to immediately contact their respective brokers or contact Bursa 2U at 03-27320067.
