Two big events in Bukit Jalil on Nov 1 are unavoidable as the organisers have made prior bookings and the necessary payments to Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM), said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

He said the first was the Perhimpunan Anak-Anak Sarawak Seluruh Malaysia which is scheduled to be attended by Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem while the other was a celebration by Buddhists.

Khairy said the FA of Malaysia (FAM) should show some flexibility by holding the Malaysia Cup final between Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Pahang on that date at a different venue, instead of the National Stadium, to avoid traffic congestion.

"I have been informed by PSM the events that clash with the Malaysia Cup final cannot be cancelled," he told reporters after chairing the 2014 Asian Games post-mortem meeting at Dewan Komanwel, National Sports Council (MSN) here, today.

As such, he urged the public to opt for public transport instead to avoid getting caught in traffic congestion.

On the meeting, Khairy said the biggest disappointment at the Asian Games in Incheon was sepak takraw while badminton and track cycling also did not meet targets.

He said the performance of the archery, karate, sailing and shooting squads were praiseworthy.

He added that future allocations to the NSAs (National Sports Associations) would be subject to performance and road map submitted by them.

"I cannot give any guarantee that they will receive the same kind of allocations because all incentives (for NSAs) will be subject to a study to be carried out by the Australian Sports Institute which will begin next month," he said.

The national contingent was given a nine-gold target for the Incheon Asian Games but came home with five gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze.
