Four major roads in the city were badly affected by flash floods that hit the capital at around 7.30pm.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Operations Movement Centre chief Samsol Saibani Maarif said the roads were Jalan Bangsar, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Pantai Baru and Jalan Pudu.

"A heavy downpour that began early this evening caused these roads to be submerged in about one meter of flood waters.

"The firefighters were always prepared for any eventuality," he told Bernama, adding that 28 personnel were deployed to deal with the flood situation.
