Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow would be Lim Guan Eng's natural choice to replace him as the chief minister, should anything happen to Lim.

Lim however said finally it was all up to the party to decide whether Chow would be the one who would replace him.

"So if anything happens to me, I think the final decision will be decided by the party but Chow will definitely be my natural choice," he told reporters after attending the Seberang Prai Municipal Council open day here, today.

Chow, who is the state local government, traffic management and flood mitigation committee chairman, has been rumoured to replace the chief minister if Lim is found guilty of any corruption charge.

Meanwhile, Chow who was also present at the event, said he always believed that the decision depended on the party and at the moment, it was still premature to decide anything.

"We have to respond because of intense media attention, so I think this is the response that we can make," he said.
