Datuk Lee Chong Wei will meet Chen Long in the Yonex Sunrise-BWF Metlife India Open Super Series badminton championships on Sunday.

In the semi-finals Saturday, Chong Wei booted out another Chinese player, Du Pengyu in a thrilling three set match 21-17, 19-21, 21-14 at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here.

"I was still leading 15-11 in the second game and then there were few simple mistakes. Its okay. I won the third set," the world number one told reporters.

Chong Wei said he hopes to defend his single title tomorrow.

"I need to be careful and remain free from injuries," he added.

The last time Chong Wei played against world number two Chen Long was at the Yonex All England Open 2014 last month.

Chong Wei won the match 21-13, 21-18.

The purse for India Open this year is US$250,000 which is higher than last year's US$200,000.
