The charred body of a man who has yet to be identified, was found in a car near a petrol station in Taman Kinrara, Puchong, Thursday afternoon.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department deputy director (operations), Mohd Sani Harul said the department received a call from the public at about 2.20pm before the first vehicle from the Puchong station arrived 10 minutes later.

"When they arrived at the scene, the car was still in flames. We managed to put out the fire fully in five minutes and found the charred body of the man," he told Bernama.

Meanwhile, Puchong Fire and Rescue Department Senior Commanding Officer II, S. Asirbatham said a witness claimed to have seen a small explosion in the victim's car which he was driving before it hit a tree by the roadside.

"The public tried to pull the victim out of his car, but failed because of the flames. It is understood that the police have classified the case as sudden death and efforts are being made to identify the victim by tracing his next-of-kin" he said.
