Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin’s tweets saluting Adolf Hitler as unacceptable and wrong.

Najib posted his three-paragraph statement on his official Facebook page and Twitter.

Bung Mokhtar sparked a controversy when he associated the Germany team which trashed Brazil 7-1 in the semi-final match of the 2014 World Cup early Wednesday morning with Hitler.

The statement was not well-received by other Twitter users, many of whom said it reflected his level of thinking.

Hitler ruled Nazi from 1933 to 1945 and was responsible for the killing of millions of Jews during World War II.

Bung Mokhtar became an MP since 1999. This is not the first time he sparked a controversy. Previously he was criticised for his insensitive statement on women, race and other issues.
