On September 13, Sudut Pandang programme had a discussion on “the Bumiputera competitiveness in the 21st century” with Umno youth economic bureau chairman Datuk Shohaimi Shahadan and IDEAS CEO Wan Saiful Wan Jan.

Tunku Munawirah Putra shared the message of her grandfather, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra al-Haj, on education and the need to assist the Malays.

Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah also mentioned about the quality of graduates.



Executive Director of MEF Shamsudin Bardan also mentioned about the lack of quality graduates and suitability of bumiputera graduates for the private sector.



Wan Saiful talked about the unfairness in terms of the implementation of the policies.



Datuk Shohaimi Shahadan wants the new economic policies not to repeat the same mistakes from the old policies.



He also mentioned about some of the mistakes that should not be repeated.



At the same time, Wan Saiful wants a specific timeframe so that the same mistakes and leakages will not occur.



According to Datuk Shohaimi Shahadan, the new policies should be relevant to the presentt situation.



Datuk Shohaimi Shahadan stresses that those implementing the policies should understand the policies thoroughly and comprehensively to avoid any problems during it’s implementation.





Finally, Wan Saiful explains that IDEAS will act as an advisor or provide any input to the government based on the studies conducted.
