Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has proven that Malaysia is still able to provide the best Budget for its people, Cabinet ministers said.

Many opined that the tabling of Budget 2017 in Parliament today was not only ‘spot on’ in terms of allocation but more importantly, it was comprehensive.

Below are some of their views:

* Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister:

"Malaysia is still able to provide the best Budget for the rakyat. Datuk Seri Najib was able to account for all levels of the society. This proves the government’s attentiveness towards all Malaysians."

* Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, International Trade and Industry Minister:

"I'm very happy that Budget 2017 is able to give strong focus on the role of SMEs (small and medium enterprises) as catalysts for the people, economy and country."

* Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department:

"Budget 2017 is a holistic plan that not only embraces the values and aspirations of Malaysians but paves the way towards stronger economic opportunities.

"The Budget provide security for the family institution and I believe it will help boost our quality of life, better than previous years.

"It (Budget) also symbolises the collective effort between government and citizens and truly showcases Malaysia as a sovereign state."

* Datuk Nancy Shukri, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department:

"The Budget is truly comprehensive. The Opposition has got nothing on it. That’s why they couldn't sit through it. It is their job to oppose."

* Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Rural and Regional Development Minister:

"The Budget is very much in touch with the current rural transformation, not just in terms of infrastructure but economically as well. I'm happy that the Prime Minister gave much consideration and benefits to MARA, TVET and Kemas."

* Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister:

"The RM2 billion allocated for the Women Career Comeback programme gives a second chance to women to increase their family income. They will do so by leveraging their experience, skills and the academic qualifications they have acquired."
