Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said boycotting Israeli products will only have an impact if it is done on a large scale involving the global community.

He said boycotting in a small group will not yield results adding it should be done by more people around the world.

"I support efforts to boycott Israeli goods so that it can be done worldwide," he told a news conference after breaking fast and presenting contribution to orphans organised by Jetty Point Langkawi at Masjid Darus Salam Nyior Cabang, here on Sunday.

The boycott against Israel was proposed following Zionist attacks on Palestine which resulted in the death of hundreds of Palestinians.
