Nearly 200 young aspiring footballers are set to benefit from a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to undergo a two-week intensive coaching clinic - Courts & Liverpool Football Academy 2013 - which kicked-off Monday.

Organised by Courts Malaysia and Liverpool FC, four training sessions will be held until Dec 13 for 192 school children aged 13 to 16 years, from selected schools.

The sessions will be conducted by three Liverpool FC academy coaches, namely Ben Parsonage, Billy Flynn and Daniel Gavin.

Commenting on the coaching clinic, renowned football legend and former Liverpool midfielder, Dietmar 'Didi' Hamann said the coaching clinic was a fantastic project for young students to express themselves and build confidence amongst them.

"The coaching clinic will also help the kids to improve and enhance their skills at a young age. I think it is good, both physically and mentally," he said when met at the Courts & Liverpool Football Academy 2013, here Monday.

The academy is aimed at nurturing promising young local talents by learning from the great footballer and academy coaches.

Meanwhile, Country Chief Executive Officer of Courts Malaysia Allard Sjolema said the company was committed to continue the programme for the next few years.

The Courts & Liverpool Football Academy 2013 is in its fourth year where Courts Malaysia has teamed up with the Liverpool FC International Soccer Academy to bring to Malaysia a valuable experimental engagement for the benefit of the youth community.

Courts is the regional marketing sponsor of Liverpool FC.
