Astro projects the newly-launched home shopping channel GO SHOP to generate RM500 million in annual revenue by 2019.

Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad CEO Datuk Rohana Rozhan attributed the figure to the readily addressable market of 4.3 million homes and 17 million consumers.

She said the joint venture with leading Korean Multimedia retailer, GS Home Shopping Inc, will complement Astro's readily available infrastructure which include broadcast facilities, call centre and channel platforms.

She added, GO SHOP will also allow Astro to diversify its business and tap a growing global industry projected to be worth RM3.6 billion in Malaysia by 2020.
