Astro continues playing an important role in developing the football community in the country.

Astro Malaysia Holding Berhad Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Rohana Rozhan said the cooperation between Astro and 1Malaysia Cardiff City (1MCC) gives opportunity for new players to gain priceless experience.

At the same time, she is confident that the collaboration will create more new talented players in the future.

“We want this five-year partnership to continue as it gives opportunity for participants to learn from the best,” said Rohana after attending an event during the match between Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers here, yesterday.

At the ceremony held during the interval, the highest representative of the 1MCC Academy presented the team jersey to Rohana as a symbolic of the five-year collaboration.

This partnership started in Spetember 2012 with 1MCC and Astro organising the Football Camp program which involved 2,530 children participations from the whole country.

A total of 32 participants were chosen to attend a training program in Cardiff since March, 23 until April 6.

1MCC is an effort by the Cardiff City community department and education owned by Malaysian entrepreneur, Tan Sri Vincent Tan to develop football in Britain and Malaysia.
