Even though the issue of who will be replacing Selangor Menteri Besar (MB), Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is almost answered with rumours of Bukit Antarabangsa Assemblyman Azmin Ali as the possible successor, the matter is however not finalised.

This is because it is believed that Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim still harbours high hopes of seeing his wife and PKR president Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Abdul Khalid’s successor, despite talks that Azmin will be announced as the next MB after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

According to sources, Anwar is set to meet division leaders, Assemblymen and Selangor PKR MPs on Friday to discuss the matter.

“Anwar will meet everyone to get their views. The meeting will be held at night at the PKR headquarters.
On Monday, DAP and PAS gave their support for Azmin's appointment as the new MB, in a closed-door Pakatan Rakyat meeting held Monday.

But Azmin himself later denied the reports of him winning DAP and PAS’s support to replace Abdul Khalid, saying he was not even present at a closed-door tripartite meeting where the decision was supposedly made.

However, on Wednesday, Abdul Khalid stressed that he will remain as Selangor's MB until the end of his term.
