Malaysian sex blogger, Alvin Tan, charged for mocking Islam and the holy month of Ramadhan is reported to be no longer in Singapore.

His lawyer, Chong Joo Tian said Tan was supposed to have returned his passport to the Malaysian authorities on June 3 after a trip to film a documentary in Singapore in May.

Efforts to trace him down since June has failed, said Chong to The Straits Times.

Tan’s girlfried, Vivian Lee, has no knowledge of his whereabouts.

“His mother has been trying to contact him, we have also tried, by his mobile phone was switched off and we do not know where he is now,” said Chong.

The Sessions Court on August 22 had revoked his bail of RM20,000 for failing to appear in court without reasonable cause.

Tan was earlier released on a RM30,000 bail with two surities which includes his cousin Loo Ching Ching, 44, and his mother, All Kim Lian, 57.

The court had set October 3 for the case re-mention.
