Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) skipper Aidil Zafuan Abdul Razak's hopes of playing in the Malaysia Cup final on Saturday were dashed when the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) turned down an appeal to lift his suspension.

Aidil, who was facing a one match suspension after receiving two yellow cards in the first and second leg semifinals against Felda United, had through JDT made an appeal to lift the suspension but the FAM decided to turn down the appeal.

FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin confirmed today that JDT's appeal was rejected and that Aidil would not be able to play in the final because the decision of the referee to flash the yellow card on both occasions were justified.

"We viewed the video recording of the incidents submitted by JDT and we feel the referee's decision was fair," he told reporters after attending a safety committee meeting for the Malaysia Cup final at the Commonwealth Hall in Bukit Jalil, here Wednesday.

JDT will face defending champion Pahang at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.
