The action of some Malaysians who hurled baseless accusations against Malaysia Airlines (MAS) following flight MH17 crash is unwarranted and deeply regretted.

Regional and Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said their action to spread all kinds of speculation, especially in the social media only hurt the feelings of the family members of the tragedy's victims.

"We feel upset as Malaysians should be united and give support to the government and MAS in addressing this crisis and, not to mention, MAS is a company that belongs to all.

"Hence the move to question or make baseless accusations is inappropriate and irresponsible," he told reporters after presenting Kedah 2014 rubber price slump special aid (BKKH 2.0) and Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) dividends here Monday.

He also hoped all the elected representatives, including from the opposition would also give full support to the motion to be tabled in the special sitting on the MH17 tragedy in Parliament this Wednesday.

"What is important is we can convey the message to the world that we are united as one voice to ensure the crisis is resolved well and those responsible must be brought to the international court," he added.
