Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim does not dismiss the possibility of dissolving the state assembly to resolve the leadership crisis in the state.

However, he said, all decisions related to the matter would only be made after he received the advice and consent from the Selangor Sultan.

"These decisions (including dissolving the state assembly) need to be discussed with the Sultan first," he said.

Abdul Khalid was speaking to reporters after a tahlil and doa selamat in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) at the State Mosque, here, tonight.

He, however, declined to say whether he had discussed with the four state executive council members from PAS about dissolving the state assembly in November.

Yesterday, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail claimed that she had the support of 30 assemblymen from Pakatan Rakyat, including two assemblymen from PAS, Saari Sungib (Hulu Kelang) and Hasnul Baharuddin (Morib), for her to be appointed the new Selangor menteri besar.

Dr Wan Azizah, who is also Kajang assemblyman, said the 30 assemblymen had also stated their loss of confidence in Abdul Khalid as MB.

The Selangor state assembly has 56 seats, with PAS and DAP having 15 seats each, PKR (13), Barisan Nasional (12) and Independent (1).
