The Bukit Aman Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants rescued 51 illegal foreign women, aged 16 to 34, in an operation here, last night.

Head of the operation DSP Kamal Khan Mohd Shariff said they comprised Vietnamese (40), Thailand (five) and China (six), who were made guest relations officers at two entertainment outlets in Malim Jaya.

"They were placed at the shelter home in Kempas, Johor for investigations under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 before deportation," he told reporters here, today.

He said police also detained seven people comprising two local men and a local woman, an Indonesian woman, a female Chinese national, a Vietnamese woman and a Bangladeshi man to help in investigating the case.

He said police also seized cash totalling RM1,668 and several items including an amplifier and microphone at the premises.
