Some 11,000 houses will be built under the 1Malaysia People Housing Project (PR1MA) in Seremban.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the development will change the area into an integrated hub of activities for local residents.

He said the 20 percent of reduction in prices compared to other homes in Seremban will appeal to the middle-income group.

In that area alone, 5,000 units will be built on 73 hectares of land.

The RM2.5 billion project is located at a strategic area behind KTM Seremban station.

It will become an easy access hub to all public transports apart from being a close to commercial offices, learning institutions and shopping centers.

Meanwhile, another 6,000 homes will be built in North Seremban (formerly known as Ulu Temiang) as announced by Najib after launching PR1MA Seremban on Sunday.

The project is a collaboration between PR1MA, Public-Private Partnership Unit (UKAS), Railway Assets Corporation (RAC), Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), the Negeri Sembilan government and Brunsfield Group.

Those eligible are able to register at www.pr1ma.my as the first phase is expected to be completed by 2016.
