Mohd Ghafar Mohd Abu Bakar, 54 served Malaysia Airlines for 25 years. His interest in aviation started when he was young. He had the opportunity to break fast with his family at Kampung Seri Tanjong, Masjid Tanah when he sought forgiveness from his mother as he would be on duty on Aidilfitri. He has been described as a friendly person who loved to joke.
