The tin mining boom of the late 1800s drove migration into ASEAN cities by the millions. Much of these immigrants came from South China, and into the many tin-rich towns of ASEAN. One of them is Ipoh, the tin-mining capital of the world. Today, Ipoh has slowed down from the yesteryears of before. Ibrahim Sani speaks with Lim Yi Wen, the Curator of 22 Hale Street, a quaint townhouse in today's sleepy Ipoh, and asks them, what it takes to preserve such a heritage in today's fast-paced rapidly changing world.
