A 26-year-old woman believed to have delivered a baby two months ago was found dead at an apartment here on Wednesday night.

The victim was tied up next to her newborn, who was unharmed.

Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Azmi Abu Kassim said the victim's husband, a security guard at a computer manufacturing company had arrived home from work around 8pm and had to break into the house which was locked.

The couple share the unit with five of the man's co workers.

Police are investigating the motive and believe the suspect to be one of the occupants at the unit, he told reporters.

"We found a weapon and are investigating whether it had been used by the suspect although there were no visible stab wounds on the victim's body," he said.
