UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said Tun Dr Mahathir does not have a proper stand on matters involving the government and the opposition.

He said the former Prime Minister changes his stand every day.

“Two days ago he said the Prime Minister will lose. Yesterday he said the Opposition will lose. I don’t understand what exactly is his stand,” he said at a press conference at Parliament lobby today.

Hishammuddin stressed that what is important now is to ensure victory for Barisan Nasional in the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-elections.

“We will make sure to field a winnable candidates who will be accepted by the voters in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar,” he said.

On Saturday, Dr Mahathir in a speech in Shah Alam had called on the Opposition to work together to defeat BN in the two upcoming by-elections.

The seats fell vacant following the deaths of the incumbents in a helicopter crash earlier this month.
