Two more people, a teacher and an insurance agent were nabbed in raids in Kuala Ketil, Kedah and Sentul here yesterday over the leaks in the question papers for Science and English in this year's Primary School Achievement Test (UPSR).

He said with the latest arrests, six people have so far been apprehended by police in connection with the case.

"The six detained are five teachers and an insurance agen. Two of them were however released on police bail but four have been remanded until Thursday.

"Police have called 12 individuals including six Malaysian Examination Syndicate (MES) officers, one journalist and five teachers to have their statements taken," he said.

Yesterday, four teachers, three men and a woman aged between 30 to 54 years were arrested in Penang and Parit Buntar, Perak.

However, two of them were released on police bail after having their statements recorded.

Following the leaks, the English examination papers 014/1 and 014/2 were cancelled after pupils sat for them on Thursday while the Science 018, 028 and 038 examination papers were postponed before students sat for them the same the day.

The MES has fixed Sept 30 as the new date for both the examination papers.
