Khairy Jamaluddin's successor as the UMNO Youth chief must be highly prepared in facing the various challenges, and defending the party and president from political attacks.

The wing's deputy chief Khairul Azwan Harun said, the new leadership must also continue the legacy left by Khairy.

"Execution standards have already been in place, probably only the approach would be different...if the new chief after KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin) can perform better and beat the standard, that's even better or at least just maintain the standard," he told Bernama.

Khairy, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, had been reported previously as saying that Khairul Azwan or better known as Azwan Bro would succeed him, provided he had the support of the members.

Meanwhile, UMNO Youth Information chief Jamawi Jaafar said, it would be better to prepare for the 14th General Election for the time being than to ponder on the selection matter.
