Three men and a Vietnamese woman have been remanded for four days from today to facilitate investigation into an attack on a Uber driver who was claimed to have sexually assaulted the Vietnamese passenger at Paya Terubong here last Tuesday.

Penang CID chief SAC Zainol Samah said the three men, aged between 28 and 32, were arrested in Paya Terubong and George Town yesterday.

Zainol said the 43-year-old woman's mobile phone was being checked d to obtain evidence of the alleged sexual assault as she claimed she had recorded the incident.

Zainol said police believed that the case could be solved following the arrest of six men, including those arrested on Wednesday, for their involvement in beating up the 29-year-old Uber driver.

Meanwhile, Northeast District Police chief Supt Anuar Omar said two mobile phones seized in the incident had been sent for forensic analysis but no report has been received so far.
