Two men, whose images appeared on closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording of a robbery case which became viral, were charged in the Sessions Court here today on three counts of armed-robbery.

One of them, aged 17, pleaded guilty to all charges, but his friend, R. Pirabagaran, 22, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out to them before judge Manira Mohd Nor.

On the first count, the two men were jointly charged with committing gang robbery when armed with parang on one Mohamad Rasul Mohd Zukri, 26, by robbing the victim of his identity card, a Touch n Go card and a Honda Civic car.

They were also charged with committing the same offence on one Ain Nina Marji, 23, by robbing the victim of her identity card, a Customs authority card, two bank cards, a handphone and RM200.

On the third count, the two men were charged with committing armed-gang robbery on one Prescella anak Wada, 23, by robbing the victim of her identity card, three bank cards and RM500.

All the offences were committed at about 3.45 am at the Petronas Station at Jalan SS4B/10, Kelana Jaya, last Sept 23.

The charges were made under Section 395 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 397 of the same law, which provides an imprisonment for up to 20 years and fine, or whipping, if found guilty.

The court set Dec 6 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Nadiah Malek Fauzie, who prosecuted, did not offer bail as it involved a serious offence.

The two men were unrepresented. -- BERNAMA
