Two students of a private college were detained by police on suspicion of selling ganja (cannabis) to college students in the Klang Valley, last Friday.

The students, aged 23 and 25, were nabbed at about 9.55 pm in the parking area of a restaurant at Regalia Business Park, here.

Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said during the arrest, a carton of packed ganja leaves weighing 1,002 grammes was found in the bag pack of one of the suspects.

"After investigations, we also seized 1,003 grammes of ganja in the house of one of the suspects in Bangsar Baru," he told a media conference, Tuesday.

According to him, the arrest of the two suspects was based on information obtained from two of their customers, a 23-year-old college student, and an unemployed man who were detained last Wednesday.

Both suspects who had bought ganja from the duo were detained at a house in Persiaran Mulia here for possessing 1.2 grammes of ganja.

He said police believed the suspects had just began selling ganja to college students.

Yahaya said the case was being investigated under Section 6, Section 39B and Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
