Two brothers were detained for alleged drug and ball firecrackers possession when police raided a house in Kampung Seberang Bukit Payong, here yesterday.

Marang district police chief DSP Mohd Suhaimi Ali said the brothers, aged 26 and 28 were nabbed at 9.30am at their family's house.

He said in the raid, police found 100 ball firecrackers and a bullet shell in the living room of the house.

"The raid was made after we received information about drug trafficking after the police have been tipped off about the drug trafficking, but we only discovered ball firecrackers," he told a press conference here today.

Mohd Suhaimi said further investigations led to the seizure of crystal-like powder, believed to be syabu, weighing 51.26g and 50 red pills believed to be methamphetamine and a weighing scale.

He said, the drugs worth about RM6,500 were found hidden in a bag hung in a bathroom of the house.
