TV AlHijrah chief executive officer Datuk Bukhari Che Muda, 57, died of cancer early this morning.

He died in Subang Jaya Medical Centre after battling with the disease for a year.

Born in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, Bukhari left behind his wife, Datin Suriyati Daud, 52, three daughters and a son.

He had served as TV9's chief operations officer prior to his tenure at TV AlHijrah.

Bukhari's body was brought to his home in Shah Alam around 8.10am and will be buried in the Islamic cemetery at Section 21 after Zohor prayers.

TV AlHijrah is the first Islamic digital television station in Malaysia. It broadcasts from its headquarters in Pusat Islam, Kuala Lumpur.
