The two senior officers of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) who were immediately transferred to the Prime Minister's Department two days ago will meet withPublic Service Department
(PSD) director-general, Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal and Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa today to discuss their transfers.

Following this development, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim has urged all parties to remain calm as the issue could be resolved amicably.

"I am convinced that although this is an administrative matter, the government can resolve it. We do not want the public to lose faith in the government enforcement agencies," he said at a press conference after chairing the state UMNO Liaison Committee meeting, here, Sunday.

Shahidanwas commenting on the recent transfer of two MACC officers, the director of its Special Operations Division, Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and director of its Strategic Communications, Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob.

Bahri was heading thedivision whichwas investigating SRC International Sdn Bhd over the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue, while Rohaizad received a visit from a group of opposition leaders at the Putrajaya MACC headquarters and had a dialogue session with them.

On another development, Shahidan, who is also Perlis UMNO liaison chief, said the state UMNO was making preparations to welcome Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to simultaneously open the delegates' meetings of the Kangar, Padang Besar and Arau UMNO divisions.

Bernamaunderstands that the event will be held at Dewan 2020 on Aug 23, with an expected turn-out of more than 12,000 people.

In SHAH ALAM, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron urged allparties includingUMNO members not to make any statements on the transfer of the MACC senior officers to avoid unwarranted reactions.

He said the transfers should be accepted rationally as it was a normal process, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Speaking to reporters after opening the Kota Raja UMNO division delegates' meeting Sunday, Idris said UMNO members should be united in fighting off current political challenges and not quarrel among themselves.
