Batu Member of Parliament Tian Chua will be released on Oct 27 after serving a jail term of one month in the Kajang Prison.

His counsel N. Surendran said Tian Chua would also attend the Parliamentary session scheduled to commence next week.

"He will be released on Oct 27 and will certainly attend the Parliamentary sitting," he said when contacted by Bernama.

Tian Chua was found guilty by the Sessions Court on Jan 23, 2014 for refusing to comply with the police order to leave the Pulapol area in Jalan Semarak on April 29, 2012 at 2.30 pm, a day after the Bersih 3.0 rally.

The court sentenced him to a jail term of one month and a fine of RM1,000.

The media had previously reported that Tian Chua, who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice president, withdrew his final appeal over the conviction and sentence against him.
