The police have detained three men in connection with an incident where three journalists from a local newspaper were roughed up while covering a Bersih 5 convoy in Kuala Selangor yesterday.

A video clip on the incident about 6pm, in front of the entrance of a supermarket in Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor went viral on social media.

In a statement today, Kuala Selangor police chief Supt Ruslan Abdullah said further investigations to identify and take action against other individuals involved was underway.

He said one of the journalists lodged a police report claiming he and his colleagues were surrounded and threatened that a recorded video be deleted, besides having his shirt pulled by a group of men.

Ruslan also confirmed a report on several individuals believed to be from the Bersih 5 convoy, who were allegedly distributing seditious leaflets at the entrance of the supermarket. -- BERNAMA
