Although the National Fatwa Council has banned smoking, yet there are Muslims who still smoke in mosque compounds.

Perlis Mufti, Prof Madya Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, who regretted such acts, described the Muslims who did so as not having any brain.

"They not only threw away cigarette butts all over the place and dirtied the mosque, they were also unaware that what was decided as unlawful could not be brought into the mosque," he said.

In his weekly Maghrib ceramah at Masjid Alwi here last night, Mohd Asri advised Muslims to discard the bad habit as it was detrimental to one's health. - BERNAMA
