The government has yet to issue a directive to all teachers nationwide to come back to work as schools remain closed.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that only staff from the Management Services (AKP) were ordered to return to school.

However, he said, if a teacher is seen in school, it is not on Ministry of Education (MOE) ‘s directive.

"Schools are not open yet, so the Ministry of Education has not issued instructions for teachers to report for duty.

"But if a teacher wants to go to school because he or she wants to help the headmaster and so on, then it is not the MOE's instruction.

“Instead, only the Management Services Member (AKP) such as clerks have had such instructions.

"They include civil servants already on duty but for teachers, there are no directives to report for duty as yet," he said at a press conference here on Wednesday.
