The special task force probing into Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM) forex losses in the 1990s held its first meeting at the finance ministry here today.

The meeting was chaired by former chief secretary to the government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan and attended by all six members of the task force.

They are Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Azam Baki; Federal Police Commercial CID director Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and Securities Commission Malaysia chairman Tan Sri Ranjit Ajit Singh.

Others are Retirement Fund (Incorporated) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Wan Kamaruzzaman Wan Ahmad; Special Task Force to Facilitate Businesses co-chairman Tan Sri Saw Choo Boon and Jahaberdeen & Co legal partner Datuk Seri Jahaberdeen Mohamed Yunoos.

Also present was the special task force's head of secretariat, Datuk Dr Yusof Ismail, who is also the finance ministry's strategic investment divisional secretary.

Earlier reports said the special task force aimed to complete its investigation and present its findings to the Cabinet in three months' time.
