Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) will convene a meeting to decide on a suitable date to accept quota additions offered by the Saudi Arabian government.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said based on previous experience, the addition in quota is usually offered by the Saudi Arabian government at the last minute,
resulting in complications for both TH and the pilgrims.

"These last minute changes sometimes cause dissatisfaction for those who do not understand the current situation as additions in quota are bound by factors such as flight matters, additions in rent, landing rights and accommodation," remarked Jamil Khir .

Jamil Khir commended the Saudi Arabian government for implementing tighter security measures with the introduction of a biometric scan for all fingers and thumbs, following terrorist attacks at several locations early this month, and urged Hajj pilgrims to cooperate with the security measures for the benefit of their well-being.
