The Selangor state government had lodged a police report over claims that there was sabotage elements in the contamination of Semenyih river recently.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said the Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS) had lodged the report yesterday.

"LUAS had lodged a police report yesterday because all the incidents took place outside of Selangor. Yesterday at Nilai and before this in Semantan, Pahang," he told reporters when met at Parliament lobby.

"We should let the police to investigate. We want those responsible to be taken to task," he said.

Earlier today, UMNO Selangor chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar had challenged Azmin to lodge a police report over his claim that there was sabotage element in the contamination of the river.

Azmin had earlier claimed there was sabotage element in the river pollution and blamed it on the Barisan Nasional and UMNO.

The Semenyih water treatment plant was forced to shut down again following contamination believed to have originated from industrial area in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

Following that, Several areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang districts faced water disruption since 7.30am yesterday.
