A businessman died after jumping from the fifth floor of a shopping mall in USJ 19 here this morning.

In the 8.30am incident, the 34-year-old was found at the parking lot of the mall by a security guard on duty.

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Muhammad Azlin Sadari said, police found several liquor bottles and pills, believed to be drugs.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim committed suicide due to domestic issues and there was no criminal element.

“Our investigation with the forensic police shows this was a suicide. According to the CCTV which recorded the incident, the suicide happened around 8.10am.

“The victim was found lying supine. Checks on the body didn’t show injuries from any weapon assault,” said Muhammad Azlin when met at the location.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
