A Form three student from Seberang Takir, Kuala Nerus who decided to quit school after a video of her
being forced to kiss the feet of a girl went viral on social media recently, will return to school next week.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said the student known as Mia would resume her studies at a school in Kemaman and the Terengganu Foundation (YT) had been been directed to handle the matter including her hostel arrangements.

Razif who took time off to visit the student at her home on Saturday, found Mia, an orphan, to have a keen interest in her studies but was too embarrassed to face her friends after being ridiculed in the incident.

"I was shocked when I was informed of the case. I will not compromise on education issue, more so if it happens in my constituency, Seberang Takir.

"To ensure Mia's safety, I have also asked YT official to monitor the situation and to inform the school of anyone disturbing her to avoid any untoward incident," he told the media after the state-level Women's Day celebration here today.

Also present were his wife Datin Seri Halina Zakaria, State Health, Women, Family and Community Development committee chairman Datuk Muhammad Pehimi Yusof and Terengganu director of Women Development, Saharuddin Mohd Kia.

In the incident on Sept 8 and 9, Mia claimed that she was forced to kiss the feet of another girl by the latter's mother after a misunderstanding rose between them.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Razif also urged both parties, especially members of the the family to solve the problem amicably.
