Azira Hafiza Ahmad Bashah, the daughter of newly appointed Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah had jumped to her father's defence on social media amid the name calling.

In her Facebook login, Azira Hafiza slammed those who had poked fun at her father's education level and that he is someone who is 'always sleeping'.

She said she was proud of her father and admitted that although he did not possess a Degree or Masters, he had worked hard to provide and educate his siblings.

"He had to take over the role of a father after his father passed away. Took care of his siblings. Sold eggs, durian, lorry attendant, you name it. But, today all his siblings are educated and some are even foreign educated," she wrote.
