Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir has brushed off rumours being circulated on social media claiming that the state government is giving out the '1Perak People's Bonus (BR1P)' in conjunction with the fasting month of Ramadan.

He said the irresponsible act was done by certain quarters and this was not the first time.

"This is a game being played by certain irresponsible individuals and such a matter, claiming that I will give the BR1P, had taken place before...This is of no difference.

"As such, I would like to inform the people of the state not to believe such fake news which have gone viral on the social media," he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting here today.

Messages on the alleged handouts have gone viral on Facebook and WhatsApp mobile application claiming that the state government is offering RM750 each for Perakians aged between 18 and 55. The messages also contained the link to apply for the bonus which is available until June 24.

In April, Zambry had also denied rumours that the state government was giving out the same amount to the people of Perak via BR1PK.
