The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2015 scheduled on Nov 2, will go on as planned as the haze conditions in the country have improved.

Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan said the air pollutant index (API) in most areas throughout the week was at the good level and only a few at the unhealthy level.

"I am grateful that the children can sit for the exam without worrying about the haze. However, we have plan B.

"The plan B will be immediately initiated if the haze goes back to unhealthy level," he told reporters after handing over special allocation to government schools to improve their infrastructure, here today.

Asked whether the examination would continue if the bad haze returned, he said it would not be stopped unless the API reached 500.

Kamalanathan said the ministry would provide face masks to all Form 5 students who would be sitting for the examination.
