For more than four months fighting against COVID-19 pandemic, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has appeared almost daily on television and in the press, sharing COVID-19 information with Malaysians.

From a controlled situation to cases rising to three-digit and now back to one, the Director General of Health and his team has tirelessly continued to serve the country.

Today, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, Malaysians may see the happiest and meaningful smile on the face of the 'Malaysian hero' as the country recorded only one positive case of COVID-19.

Smiling proudly, Dr Noor Hisham and his team lifted placards bearing 'number 1' at a press conference here on Wednesday.

"Today we have only one case, which is a historic day, one case reported, and zero case for local transmission," he said followed by applause from all present at the press conference.

Known for his humble attitude, Dr Noor Hisham in his earlier statement said that it was a success with Malaysians who adhered to the government's standard operating procedure (SOP).

“The MoH would like to thank everyone especially the Malaysian community for this achievement.

"As previously mentioned, this achievement is truly the result of the cooperation of all levels and layers of society in their respective roles," he said.

From February 27, 2020, Malaysia is finally approaching the zero-positive COVID-19 daily cases and it is hoped that Malaysia will win with a record of zero cases.
