Police will summon former 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) chief executive officer Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi to assist in the investigation on 1MDB.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said, however, no time frame had been set as to when he would be called.

"Police will call him (Shahrol Azral) to record his statement. We have not called him yet. As I have said before, it takes a lot of time to peruse the report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

"I do not want my investigation team to hastily conduct the (1MDB) probe. They will examine all the related documents," he told a news conference after opening the 81st Koperasi PDRM Berhad Annual Delegates General Meeting, here, today.

In April, PAC tabled the 106-page 1MDB Governance Management Control Report in the Dewan Rakyat.

The committee, comprising Barisan Nasional and opposition members of Parliament, suggested, among others, that the authorities investigate Shahrol Azral and parties involved in the management of the government-owned strategic investment company.
